Gout, or gout, or podagra are several synonyms for recurrent bouts of acute inflammatory arthritis, which is manifested by sharp pain, redness and swelling, usually of the big toe.
According to Western medicine, it is caused by increased levels of uric acid in the blood. Uric acid crystallizes and the resulting crystals are deposited in joints, tendons and surrounding tissues. Gout is also called "the disease of kings" or "the disease of the rich" because it is caused by intemperance in mainly fatty, greasy and spicy foods. This corresponds to the causes according to traditional Chinese medicine, because this way of eating creates moist heat and stasis of the blood in the body.
Tong Yong Tong Feng Tang clears the moist heat from the tiny side branches of the main meridans. This moisture, with a heat similar to glue, blocks the pathways, Qi cannot flow freely, consequently fluids and blood begin to stagnate. And this is how sharp pain, redness, heat and swelling arise.
We recommend long-term moderation in eating, eating regularly (maximum 3 times a day), limiting hot, spicy, fatty foods (everything that contains fire). Completely omit alcohol (except for the alcohol in the tincture).
